SIGCSE 2018 Roomate Database (version 2.1)

The purpose of this system is to help SIGCSE 2018 attendees locate someone with whom to share a hotel room at the Symposium. Once you have signed up for the service, you will be able to obtain the names and contact information for other registered users who match your profile.

To register for the service, click the link to the left labeled "Not a Member?, Sign Up!" You will be directed to a page where you will be asked to enter your name, contact information, and room preferences. This information will be sent to a moderator who will review your application and enter your name into the database. Note that the review is done manually. We will complete the review as quickly as possible. Once you have been entered into the database, you will receive a roommate DB member number (via email) that will enable you to use the service.

A Few Disclaimers

Every effort has been made to make this system secure and reliable. However, your satisfaction with any roommates the system proposes ultimately depends on you and your potential roommate(s). You are responsible for discussing possible room-sharing with proposed roommates, negotiating cost-sharing arrangements, and otherwise satisfying yourself that any proposed roommate is in fact satisfactory to you.

The operators of this system will not intentionally release any of the information you enter into the database to anyone other than a potential roommate. By signing up to use the system, you and all other users agree to similarly respect each other's privacy. The information you provide will be used for the purpose of roomate selection only. Only the administrator of the database, and other registered users, will be able to view your contact information. The system will be taken offline by February 20th, 2018 and contents of the database will be erased.

Contact paul.tymann@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments about this system.
